This tutorial will cover the first part of the actual Closed Deal Workflow for a new office lease deal – adding Property Information.
Instructions
If you selected an existing Property record for this deal on the initial New Closed Deal modal or form, then that Property will already be linked to your deal, and you will be taken straight to the step to Select a Space.
For this example, we’re going to assume a Property was not selected before this point.
On the Select a Property tab, you can search the existing Property database by any combination of the fields on this form. When searching by street address, we recommend starting with less detail, such as just the street name without the address number or direction, and then adding more detail as needed to narrow down your results. This way, you won’t accidentally miss your Property because of a minor difference in spelling or punctuation.
If there are any matching results, you’ll see them listed below. Hovering your mouse over each item in the list will give you more information about that Property, so you can be sure you are selecting the right one. Click anywhere on the row to select that Property.
If you don’t see the Property you’re looking for in the list, click on the option to Create a new Property.
Lease and Sale Comp types must have a Property, so you’ll see here that the option to Continue without a Property isn’t available.
Click Save and Continue to move on to the next step.
If you select an existing Property, you’ll see all of the information already associated with this Property on the next two tabs (Property Name & Location and Property Details).
If this Property currently has active listings downloaded from CoStar or LoopNet, some of the fields will be locked. That’s because that information is being managed in CoStar or LoopNet, not in this platform.
Fill out at least the required fields – indicated by a yellow field on this form – and click on Continue.
The Property Details form has a lot of fields for entering all of the Property attributes. Most of them are under “collapsed” sections to make it easier to skip to only those sections that are relevant to this Property. Click on a section name to expand it.
Alternatively, you can click on the Expand All option at the top of the form to see all of the available fields.
When you’re done populating attributes for this Property, click on Save and Continue.
